Developing a business that combines a love of trout fishing and a rural lifestyle, in a place as special as Tasmania was a dream of Gary's for many, many years, and Fiona didn't need much convincing! Gary and Fiona have combined their various qualities and skills and developed Trout Territory into a successful guided trout fishing business. Spending time with folks who love to go fishing, living and working in a place as beautiful as Tasmania, and sharing the whole experience with others is indeed very special.

Location
We are situated in Cressy, by the famous Macquarie River, a stones throw from the absolutely delightful Brumbys Creek and an easy drive to many well known and productive central highland lakes, such as Arthurs Lake and Great Lake. In the northern midlands of Tasmania, Cressy is approximately 30 minutes from Launceston and 15 minutes from Launceston Airport. Click here to view a MAP

Trout Fishing Paradise!
Cressy - known as "Trout Fishing Paradise", is undoubtedly the hub of trout fishing in Tasmania! With so many exciting trout waters within an hour or so of Cressy, there is a vast variety of charming trout waters for anglers to choose from. Our central location gives us the flexibility to take advantage of the fishing in all kinds of weather and conditions.

Our Guide
Gary France is a trout fisherman of over 30 years. Our clients benefit from his knowledge and expertise of Tasmanian trout waters, trout habits, casting techniques, fly selection, entomology, stream craft and much more. Gary has plenty of patience and a passion for sharing all sorts of trouty secrets.
